In July this year, the government set up a small committee of MLAs to explore the opportunities for building a new to the bio-economy in B.C. Over the past few months we’ve been meeting with industry representatives, and other interested parties. Check back here for our findings and recommendations!

I’ve been interested in taking a whole different approach to our forests and forest industry for years now and was thrilled to see the Canadian Forest Products Association release a new report which succinctly summarizes the potential of the forest based bio-economy. I’m currently lobbying the Provincial Government to hold a major summit on this potential approach to BC’s forest sector. I believe we can be world leaders in the bio-economy; creating new investment opportunities, jobs and community benefits from new industries while supporting and enhancing our traditional ones.
