In Fall 2011 Bob introduced two Private Members’ Bills to improve our democracy in British Columbia.
The first Bill would remove big money from politics by restricting donations to candidates and political parties to registered British Columbia voters only, and caps those individual donations at $1000 per year.

The second Bill would move the fixed provincial election date from May to October, every four years. This would ensure that the provincial budget is scrutinized and passed by the Legislature, and remove the ability of competing political parties to use the budget as a political tool. It would also give greater stability to the public sector by ensuring continuous funding for providing vital public services.
