This fall, responsibilities for the Homeowner Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program were transferred from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to the Province of BC. While there is an agreement established between the Federal Government and the Provincial Government, there has not been a formal announcement from the Provincial Government regarding how this program will be administered ongoing. As such, BC residents who have applied for the Homeowner Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program have no means of being compensated for current or pending modifications to their home. We are working with local residents in this situation and are pushing to have clarity from the Provincial Government as to how this program will be administered in the future. We are advising residents who are making modifications to keep all receipts of work done so that proper records are available once the Provincial program is established.
